INTERIOR Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, in co-operation with concerned authorities, inspected the security preparations and arrangements for the 20th F1 Bahrain Grand Prix.
The minister visited the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) and was received by Public Security chief Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan.
He affirmed the ministry’s contributions to the success of this year’s extraordinary edition of the international race that marks its 20th anniversary, which resulted from the kingdom’s approach to openness and peaceful coexistence being the first Middle Eastern country to host such a sport, as well as its good reputation in organising this international race.
The minister highlighted that the ministry works to provide the capabilities and security services for the success of the race as per the highest security readiness and professionalism.
He was briefed on the security plans to secure the race, its fans and participants, as personnel were trained to ensure traffic flow inside the BIC and surrounding roads.
