Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received Safaa El Tayeb El Kogali, the World Bank's Country Director for the GCC countries.
The meeting discussed cooperation between the GCC and the World Bank in the GCC countries, contributing to the development of various GCC systems, including trade, investment, and finance.
Albudaiwi commended the important role played by the World Bank in providing advice and consultations to the GCC countries in various fields, including the enhancement of the GCC systems and intensifying cooperation between the public and private sectors in the GCC countries.
He emphasised the importance given by the GCC countries to participate in the World Bank's annual meetings, as these meetings provide numerous opportunities for communication among all relevant international parties in the financial, investment, and trade fields.
Albudaiwi affirmed that the participation of the GCC in the upcoming meetings in October 2024 would be distinctive and beneficial, featuring various activities and events.
