A RECEPTION to mark the 248th anniversary of the United States’ independence was held last night at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa.
Ministers and senior government officials, diplomats, legislators, businessmen and journalists attended the event.
This year’s theme, ‘A Road Trip Across America’, captured the imagery and energy of the open American road and the iconic cars and motorcycles that have captivated generations of people around the world.
The event featured early cars like the Ford Model A, the muscle cars and big engines that drove our imaginations through the 1960s and 70s, and today’s models that carry that tradition into the future.
As part of the stops along the ‘road trip’, guests were able to sample food from seven iconic American cities, reflecting the rich diversity of American society and culture.
“The US is a nation that seeks to advance, improve and innovate – striving to move forward. In reviewing developments over the past year in our relationship with Bahrain, I can say that together, we are on a journey of discovery, travelling farther than ever before,” said US Ambassador Steven Bondy.
“In an historic highlight, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, signed the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement in September with Secretary (Antony) Blinken.”
