BAHRAIN handball national team started their final training preparation ahead of their participation at the Handball World Championships taking place in France next month.
Under the supervision of national team coach Romanian Ehan Omar, the 25 players who were called up for the first roster took part in their training sessions at the Handball Association hall in Um Al Hassam.
Ahead of their camp, the players met with Bahrain Handball Association (BHA) president Ali Essa who stressed on the importance of the final stages of their training programme.
Essa also asked the players to raise the Bahrain flag high at the competition, as each player was picked after a clear evaluation of his abilities.
He also highlighted the importance of treating each other as a family, and playing with high team spirits as they have the full support of the board in the upcoming national duty.
The training camp has been arranged under the request of the coaching staff and will see players train in Bahrain before they travel to Hungary, where they will take part in a friendly tournament alongside Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Republic.
Following the tournament, the team will travel in Serbia, where they will play two friendly matches against Serbia’s handball team, before concluding their preparation in the Netherlands, by playing two friendly matches against the Dutch handball team.
After the completion of the training camp, the team will leave for Paris, where the tournament will take place, where they are pitted with Qatar, Egypt, Sweden and Argentina.
Four teams from each group will qualify for the second stage, while the remaining teams will take part in the Federation President’s Cup to decide on the rankings from 17th to 24th of the World Championship.
