Riyadh:  Two people drowned and three others were reported missing due to torrential rain in Saudi Arabia.

The civil defence units worked round the clock and rescued 322 people, pulled out 284 vehicles and evacuated dozens of families, said the Ministry of Interior.

They also pulled out the body of a 13- year-old boy who drowned in a dam located in the Governorate of Al-Mujamaa.

Schools remained shut for the second consecutive day as the met department warned of further unsettled weather.
