Manama: Fifteen female artists, both local and international, are being showcased at an exhibition that opened in Bahrain on Monday.
The Women in Art for Peace exhibition is being held by the International Peace Institute for the Middle East and North Africa (IPI Mena).
It was held under the patronage of Interior Ministry Under-Secretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, who is also Bahrain Arts Society honorary president at the IPI Mena office in Bahrain Financial Harbour.
The exhibit is a collaboration with Europe’s Art, a Brussels-based art gallery aiming to promote talented and renowned contemporary artists, as well as Artwed Atelier, founded by Saudi artist and peace activist Wedad Al Bakr.
It is designed to encourage female artists to participate in dialogue and exchange to promote the culture of peace.
