CITY Centre Bahrain will be offering free medical check-ups next weekend as part of a campaign to mark World Heart Day.

The event, Feel the Beat, on September 29 and 30 will run from 10am to 10pm.

The focus of the annual campaign, which will be run across all malls of the Majid Al Futtaim group in the UAE, Oman, Bahrain and Lebanon will be on cardiovascular diseases among women.

“Don’t put yourself at risk, women are told, as physicians dispel myth that cardiovascular disease mainly afflicts men” is the theme of the event.

Testing stations will be set up in the mall, with a registration desk and facilities to monitor blood pressure, blood sugar and body mass index.

Visitors will also be given a brief talk by a medical professional, who will ask simple questions about their health and lifestyle.

Women can follow the campaign, learn about cardiovascular diseases and pledge to do more for their hearts by visiting the malls’ websites and on social media by using the hashtag #signwithyourheart.
