WWE Hall of Famer and Raw General Manager Kurt Angle was seen backstage in his office talking on the phone.
"I know you haven't been in the ring in years but I thought you'd be great for the women's Royal Rumble match, I mean a star of your calibre," said the GM before he was interrupted by The Bar, Sheamus and Ceasaro.
WWE Chief brand officer and on-screen commissioner of 'Monday Night Raw' Stephanie McMahon announced on the December 18 edition of Raw that this year we'll see the first ever women's Royal Rumble match.
Weeks later General Manager Kurt Angle confirmed that the rules for the women's Royal Rumble match will be similar to the men's match, both of which will have 30 participants.
Smackdown and Raw each have 10 women that we see on a regular basis, two of which are the champions, so that makes a total of 18 women, leaving at least 12 slots available for other entrants.
The 'Royal Rumble' Pay Per View will take place on Sunday (Monday morning in the GCC), January 28, 2018, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.
