BAHRAINI artist Areej Rajab is showcasing 17 original artworks at an exhibition in the UAE.
The exhibition, titled Limitless, marks Ms Rajab’s eighth solo expo and is being held at Showcase Gallery in Dubai.
It represents Ms Rajab’s latest paintings and marks the second stop of a tour that launched in Bahrain in November last year.
“I specialise in colour psychology and the power each and every colour and brush stroke has on individuals,” said the 41-year-old, who was named among the top 10 artists in Dubai.
She said she focused on the use of dominating yet opposing colours to create each individual painting with limitless and unpredictable variations.
“We live in a limitless world where there is a continuation to every object,” she added.
“I went into further detail in my paintings to portray the concept that we are not surrounded by any solids, and that each object is a continuation of the one before.
“Nothing ends where we think it does, this is just a limitation of our vision.
“Everything and everyone around us are nothing but highly fluid and ambiguous constructions of beautiful lines, magical strokes and clever patches that tend to fade out as they move outwards away from their core.”
The exhibition will run daily until February 5 from 10am to 6pm except on Fridays. The next stop on her tour will be announced after the Dubai exhibition.
