Manama: More than 50 per cent of commerical registration (CR) holders in Bahrain are women, although this doesn’t reflect their real participation, said Alwani Al Bahrain chairman Ammar Awachi.
“We seek to enable female CR holders to take full control of projects and hold the reins of their companies rather than being mere names on CR certificates,” he told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
Bahrain is one of the region’s pioneering countries investing in small and medium enterprises, which contribute nearly 30pc to Gross Domestic Product, he said.
