Manama: The Premier yesterday hailed Bahrain’s steady success in developing the tourism sector.
He highlighted the facilities and resorts which reflect the kingdom’s perfect environment and potential in the sectors of tourism and hospitality.
Bahrain has earned a marked standing on the regional and international tourism map, he said.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Jumeirah Royal Saray Bahrain in Seef District.
The Premier reiterated the government’s keenness to encourage tourism development. He also vowed to provide all facilities to woo the private sector to invest in tourism and hospitality, whose windfall would benefit the national economy.
The Premier toured the hotel and was briefed by Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid Al Khalifa about facilities and services.
He stressed the importance of expanding tourism facilities and building hotels as part of efforts to diversify sources of revenues. The Premier also called for investment in markets, museums, archaeological vestiges, resorts and modern shopping outlets.
Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid delivered a speech, paying tribute to the Premier for gracing the inauguration ceremony.
He hailed the Premier’s support to all initiatives aimed at consolidating Bahrain’s development and bolstering its competitive edge, stressing the importance of tourism and hospitality sector in spurring economic growth.
Jumeirah Royal Saray Bahrain chief executive Marc Dardenne thanked the Premier for opening the new milestone, hailing his support and the government’s drive to provide all facilities for the project.
A video recording documenting the multi-stage project was shown during the ceremony which featured Bahraini and Emirati folklore.
A commemorative memento was also presented to the Premier.
