Video: Shakespearean tale with a modern twist

Reem Al Daaysi

DARK human emotions were brilliantly portrayed on stage as Shakespeare’s Macbeth came to life through catchy music and incredible vocals.

The performance by Shakespeare 4 Kidz (S4K) opened yesterday and told the story using many of the bard’s original words with a modern twist to ensure entertainment for families and young audiences.

Macbeth tells the story of a noble Scottish warrior who murdered his way to the crown after hearing the prophecies of three witches.

Macbeth’s slow guilt-ridden journey into madness driven by murders was captivated on stage, as the actors flawlessly portrayed guilt, sorrow, greed and anger through synchronised dances and beautiful songs.

The cruelty of Lady Macbeth was fascinating to watch as the musical thriller continued full of strange witches, bloody battles, betrayal and murders accompanied with a forest that moves.

Macbeth, brought by Entertainment Plus as part of the Spring of Culture festival, consists of 17 talented actors from London’s West End.

Further performances take place at the Cultural Hall today at 11.30am and 6.30pm and tomorrow at 6.30pm.

Tickets are available at Al Osra supermarkets and Havajava cafe inside Manazel in Salmabad.
