Kuwait City: In an effort to reduce expatriates health costs, Kuwait is no longer offering residency permits to expats who are diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, and several other medical conditions.
According to a list put out by Kuwait's Ministry of Health, there are 22 different medical conditions that would render people ineligible to apply for a permanent residency in the country.
According to the assistant undersecretary for general health affairs, Majida Al Qattan, the law comes in line with a decision that was made by the GCC council which dates back to 2001.
