THE third branch of a private healthcare group opened yesterday in Adliya.
The Al Hilal Hospital and Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals and Polyclinics has two other branches in Muharraq and Riffa, and is working on plans to have a total of 10 facilities in the country.
A ribbon and cake-cutting ceremony along with a tour marked the Adliya branch’s official opening. Present at the ceremony were Health Ministry assistant under-secretary Dr Mariam Al Hajri, Al Hilal Hospital directors, Indian cricket star Irfan Pathan and South Indian cine star Bhavana.
“I am deeply honoured to celebrate the Al Hilal multi-speciality medical centre and I would like to express my warmest heartfelt wishes for every project and institution that serves the health sector and contributes to its development and progress,” said Dr Al Hajri during the event.
The new 24-hour centre consists of five floors and offers a broad spectrum of services including general surgery, orthodontics, paediatrics, internal medicine, gynaecology, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, dermatology, radiology and dentistry.
Other features include a modern laboratory with bi-directional interfacing, X-ray unit, ultrasound and a fully-fledged pharmacy.
“It’s a new venture and multi-speciality centre that we want to use to cater to the kingdom, and all the nationalities in it,” said Al Hilal Hospital Adliya branch head Lijoy Chalackal.
“Al Hilal Hospital is looking for further expansion and there are another two or three projects on the way.
“We aim to provide good services at affordable costs.”
The GDN previously reported that the group is planning to launch branches in Salmabad in the next four months, while it is currently searching for properties in Saar, Hamad Town, Hidd and Askar.
Another two facilities, including a multi-speciality hospital, are still in the planning phase.
