The pursuit of excellence by Bahrain and Philippines in combat sports was highlighted at a meeting between Brave Combat Federation president Mohammed Shahid and Philippine Ambassador Alfonso Ver.
The Bahrain-based global mixed martial arts promotion, founded by Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman and Bahrain Athletics Association president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has featured athletes from Philippines in events hosted around the world and the successful championship title defence by Stephen Loman prompted fans to demand an upcoming event by the organisation in Philippines.
“Bahrain and the Philippines share a strong bond when it comes to co-operation in various fields. We have found yet another common ground when it comes to the passion that we share for combat sports. The historic title defence by the youngest champion in Brave Combat Federation, Stephen Loman, and the return of the legend, Manny Pacquiao ushers the golden age of combat sports in Philippines where you see the continuous pursuit for excellence. Brave Combat Federation looks forward to nurturing mixed martial arts in such destinations,” said Shahid.
