London: The first Bahrain Opportunities Forum was hugely successful in highlighting and projecting Bahrain as a regional hub of business and trade, said a top diplomat.
Former Pakistani ambassador and Diplomat Business Club president Javed Malik organised the one-of-its-kind event at the British Parliament, which was co-chaired by British MP Andrew Rosindell and attended by former British minister Lord George Roberton, MPs, mayors, councillors, businessmen and traders.
Mr Malik, in his welcome address, said “Under the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, Bahrain has positioned itself as an inclusive and vibrant society that welcomes and provides opportunities to everyone.
“The kingdom has strongly positioned itself as a hub of business and trade for the GCC. The venue of the first forum was filled to capacity, which clearly indicates we were able to generate positive interest about Bahrain,” he said.
According to Mr Malik, the presentation by EDB chief executive Khalid Al Rumaihi made an excellent pitch about business, trade and investment opportunities in Bahrain and participants showed a lot of interest in opportunities that Bahrain has to offer.
The business delegation, led by BCCI chairman Samir Nass, who was accompanied by first vice chairman Khalid Mohammed Al Najibi, was very instrumental in showcasing Bahrain’s business climate through first-hand experience as business leaders.
Mr Rosindell, who is the honorary chair of the UK chapter of the Diplomat Business
Club, said he was delighted to welcome the Bahraini delegation and looks forward to growing business ties between UK and Bahrain.
Mr Nass highlighted the tremendous opportunities in Bahrain being the hub of trade and gateway to the Gulf.
