Bahrain Football Association (BFA) has announced that the new season of Bahrain Football First Division League 2018-2019 will be named as Nasser Bin Hamad Premier League.
This was announced at a press conference organised by the BFA and the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) at Crowne Plaza Bahrain last night. It was attended by BFA president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar and other officials.
The tournament will kick off on September 16 and conclude on May 3 next year.
The winners of each match will earn BD1,000 and in the event of a draw both teams will be awarded BD500 each. The winners of the league title will collect a cash prize of BD40,000 while the runners-up will earn BD25,000 and the third-place team will take home BD15,000.
The matches will be held at four venues – Bahrain National Stadium, Khalifa Sports City Stadium, Al Ahli Club Stadium and Muharraq Club Stadium.
