Bahrain Post issued new stamps to commemorate the discovery of Bahrain’s largest oil and gas reserve in more than 80 years “in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad”.
Khaleej Al Bahrain Oil Reservoir, the biggest oilfield in the kingdom’s history, was the fruition of the King’s directives to intensify oil and gas exploration, it said.
The Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry’s Post Department issued three stamps, a souvenir card and an envelope in an ensemble of designs to illustrate the milestone.
The new oil production is expected to boost Bahrain’s competitiveness and capacity to achieve its sustainable development goals, initiatives and projects.
