UN support hailed
Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed Al Mutawa received UN Resident Co-ordinator in Bahrain Amin El Sharkawi. The minister thanked the UN for supporting Bahrain’s development efforts, citing the assistance provided by the UNDP to the kingdom during the preparation of its First Voluntary National Review, which was presented during the ministerial meeting of the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at the UN headquarters.
RCO official praised
Health Minister Faeqa Al Saleh yesterday received Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) secretary general Dr Mustafa Al Sayed, and congratulated him on his new post as the Goodwill Ambassador for Humanitarian Affairs. She praised his efforts in the charitable and humanitarian work at the local and international level.

Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca) president Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa yesterday received British Imperial War Museum director general Diane Elizabeth Lees and a delegation. They reviewed co-operation between the Bahrain National Museum and Imperial War Museum.
Shaikha Mai separately received Korean Ambassador Koo Hyun-Mo and discussed co-operation to enrich cultural exchanges. She underlined Baca-led efforts to promote cultural life in Bahrain, hailing the participation of the Korean Philharmonic Orchestra in the 13th Spring of Culture.
BDF unit inspected
BDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Dhiyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi yesterday inspected military units and reviewed work procedures, as well as training programmes.
Expert visits SMC
Salmaniya Medical Complex hosted consultant ophthalmologist Dr Mustapha Kamel who examined 34 patients as part of the Visiting Doctor Programme. The Egyptian physician performed 16 operations on children and adults with crossed eyes (strabismus).
The Health Ministry is carrying out the programme in co-ordination with the High Committee for Overseas Treatment.
