YET another expatriate employee took his life yesterday taking the toll of reported suicides among foreign workers in Bahrain to 23 this year.

Prakash M P, a managerial staff at Y K Almoayyed and Sons, was found hanging in his room in Eker in the morning, according to an informed source.

The 42-year-old Indian was expecting his wife and two sons to return from vacation on Thursday.

Police reportedly found a suicide note from the second floor flat, which Mr Prakash, his wife Shijina and their two sons Vedjabes and Abhayadev, shared with another Indian family.

“Civil Defence personnel opened the door of the bedroom after company officials reported that he was not at work and was not responding to calls,” a source told the GDN.

“It was around 11am and they found him hanging from the ceiling fan.

“They inspected the room after removing the body, and we learn that they got a suicide note, details of which are not known.

“Friends, who saw him at the temple on Saturday, when the Kerala harvest festival of Onam was celebrated, said he was fine and showed no signs of depression.”

Mr Prakash, from Theekuni, in Kerala’s Vadakara, worked as a production manager in the carpentry section of the company.
