Supreme Council for Youth and Sports second deputy chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) honorary president Shaikh Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa congratulated Bahrain’s delegation on their success at the recently-concluded 18th Asian Games in Indonesia.

In their biggest haul, Bahrain won 26 medals in total, comprising a record 12 gold, seven silver and seven bronze, battling with 45 nations from across the continent. They were 11th in the overall medals table.

Shaikh Isa congratulated His Majesty the King’s representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman and BOC president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa on Bahrain’s achievement.

He said the achievement was a result of the support of Shaikh Nasser as well as SCYS first deputy chairman and Bahrain Athletics Association president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Shaikh Isa also noted the significant role of BOC in supporting national sports federations.
