National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has received a special award from Citi Bahrain for leadership in the payment space. The Citi 2017 Performance Excellence Award is an honour presented to leading financial institutions worldwide, for achieving high rates of Straight-Through Processing (STP). NBB achieved a Treasury STP rate of 99 per cent and Commercial STP rate of 95pc during 2017. Citi Group correspondent banking director Abdul Mohsin Al Mahdi presented the award to NBB chief executive for treasury, capital markets and wealth management Hussain Al Hussaini. NBB head of coverage, corporate and institutional investment banking Ali Abdulkarim; relationship manager financial institutions Amal Safar; head of treasury operations Nabeel Kazim; and Citi head of financial institutions, Bahrain and Kuwait, Omar Kopti were present.
