RIFFA last night consolidated their position at the top of the table in the Nasser bin Hamad Football Premier League beating Al Najma 1-0.
Malkiya defeated East Riffa 2-1 in the other match at the National Stadium.
Riffa top of the league table with 15 points from five wins and one defeat while Al Najma remain on nine.
The winning goal came in the 67th minute through Mahdi Abduljabbar.
In the second match, Malkiya rallied from a goal down to pip East Riffa 2-1.
It was Malkiya’s second victory and move to six points while East Riffa remain on eight with their second defeat in a row.
East Riffa went into the lead in the sixth minute through Sami Al Hussaini.
However, Malkiya equalised through Ahmed Habeeb in the 39th minute.
Ahmed Yousif scored the match-winner with two minutes left for full-time.
Three matches are scheduled for today. Muharraq take on Al Hala at 4.25pm at Muharraq Club Stadium, Manama face Al Shabab at 4.25pm and Budaiya clash with Al Hidd at 7.20pm, both at Khalifa Sports City Stadium.
