Abu Dhabi – The majestic Louvre Abu Dhabi has ended its first year on a high note.
The museum received over a million visitors since it first opened its doors officially to the public on the 11th of November 2017.
Tourists and foreign visitors made up 60% of the overall number of visitors, which UAE nationals represented 40%.
Tourists and expatriates from France, Germany, China, the UK, the USA, India and the GCC countries flocked to explore the Louvre Abu Dhabi and admire its precious artifacts and paintings.
Indian nationals living in the country or visiting the UAE as tourists topped the number of people who visited the museum, compared with other nationalities.
According to statistics released by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Mohammed Khalifa Al-Mubarak, Emiratis make up 47% the overall number of museum staff.
The museum, more than a decade in development, showcases hundreds of works of art from around the world.
