His Majesty King Hamad yesterday paid tribute to senior citizens’ commitment to taking part in parliamentary and municipal elections.
He was speaking as he received a number of senior citizens at the Isa Cultural Centre in the presence of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
The King expressed appreciation of their patriotic role and said they are the finest examples of patriotism, and loyalty to the homeland as well as the leadership.
He lauded their contributions to the comprehensive development march, stressing to push ahead with the progress and prosperity process.
The King presented them with the Medal of Bahrain in appreciation of their participation in the elections, wishing them good health.
The senior citizens who were honoured are: Thajiba Ibrahim Shabaan, Saeeda Mubarak Saud, Abdullah Mohammed Jamal, Abdullah Ibrahim Nawar, Ahmed Mohammed Jasim and Sabeeka Jasim Mohammed.
