Fake degree mastermind extradited to Kuwait

An Egyptian national has been extradited to Kuwait in connection with the fake university degree scam.

The suspect first fled Kuwait one the fake degree scandal made headlines, prompting the authorities to launch an extensive investigation.

The man, who is thought to be the mastermind, tried to hide in UAE first. However, the United Arab Emirates authorities alerted the Kuwait security officials, in response to an Interpol red notice.

He reportedly admitted to running the fake degree network in coordination with another compatriot who supplies him with ready-to-fill academic certificates bearing the logos of Egyptian universities.

According to security sources cited by Alqabas, the suspects claims that he has a list including the data of all people who dealt with him and obtained fake degrees – most of whom are Kuwaiti nationals.
