Expo celebrates 100 years of education
AN art exhibition is being hosted at Al Hidaya Al Khalifiya School until January 9.
The free exhibition celebrates the centurial establishment of the school as well as the founders and administrators who helped reform education in Bahrain, steering the nation towards the shores of modernity.
The exhibition, being held at the school in Hidd, features 14 portraits of the visionary intellectuals who helped remodel the nation.
It will be open from 7am to 2.20pm.
History of a vibrant museum showcased
AN exhibition showcasing the highlights and trajectory of the Bahrain National Museum is being held as part of its 30th anniversary.
Over the course of its eventful history, the museum has continuously redefined itself to meet its mission and to remain relevant to its audiences.
In the last three decades, the museum has been a vibrant centre for the preservation and promotion of Bahrain’s heritage, art and culture.
The expo will be held at the museum from 8am to 8pm.
Spotlight on 5,000 years of pearls...
THE history of pearling in Bahrain is being highlighted at an exhibition hosted at the Pearling Path Visitors’ Centre in Muharraq.
The exhibition, 5,000 Years of Pearls from Bahrain, showcases an exceptional selection of pearl jewellery from the collections of the Bahrain National Museum, Mattar Jewellers and the Cartier Collection.
It also celebrates the opening of the centre in the heart of Muharraq.
The exhibition is open from 10am to 6pm until January 10.
Urban City Hunt for thrill seekers
THRILL seekers can start the year with some adrenaline rush as Voxshop’s Urban City Hunt will be held this Saturday. Teams registered for the event will be given a challenge sheet that will hold clues to various locations as part of the hunt. They must finish the set of tasks and complete the race in record time at the end zone to be the champions of the Urban City Hunt Season One. Each team will have a car with up to five participants, including a driver, a navigator and a puzzle solver, as well as a team captain. Coffee shop hosts karaoke night
A SERIES of open mic events will be hosted by Sonder Coffee Shop in Sanad.
Continuing their ‘Not Art.’ series, in 2019 Sonder will host a karaoke night on Saturday, a poetry night on January 12, an acoustic night on January 19, and a comedy night on January 26.
