A proposal to build a sports village in each of Bahrain’s four governorates has been presented in the build up to the 2019 Bahrain Sports Day, scheduled to take place on February 13.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant secretary general and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) secretary general Abdulrahman Askar chaired the first preparatory meeting for the third edition of the Bahrain Sports Day at Regency Hotel in Manama.
Askar, who is also chairman of the organising committee, made a presentation to representatives of national sports federations as well as from different ministries and the private sector, in which he gave details of the previous two editions of the event.
They also discussed the proposal to build a dedicated sports village for each of the four governorates.
The official website of Bahrain Sports Day was presented and discussions were held on ways to develop it.
