Spartan Arabia will host the first-ever stadion race of the region at Bahrain National Stadium tomorrow under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
“The KHK Heroes team will compete in this historic race exhibiting the ideals of inclusivity in Bahrain and highlighting the significance of sports and wellness for all,” said SCYS first deputy chairman and Bahrain Athletics Association president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
“Regardless of background or abilities, our aim is to support the youth to achieve their full potential in life. Initiatives like these are our duty,” he added.
“We are delighted to have another opportunity to showcase the inclusivity of youth in Bahrain and hope that everyone will come down to support the racers and enjoy the activities,” said KHK Heroes MD Nivedita Dhadphale.
KHK Heroes captain for the race is Ali Mohammed Moussa. The team includes youth with cerebral palsy, autism, intellectual disability, ADHD and Down syndrome.
The participants will run the kids course and, depending on capability, they will run between 800m and 3200m, completing obstacles that they are comfortable attempting.
