MANAMA: Faieq Alzayani Group of Companies (Fazco), a Bahrain-based premium tobacco and luxury goods distributor, has entered into a partnership with the Boutique Cigar Association of America (BCAA) based in Miami, Florida.
Under the agreement signed by Fazco managing director Ali Alzayani and Kafie 1901 Cigars chairman Dr Gaby Kafie, the two parties will jointly develop a full-scale plan to introduce the best of American-made and distributed boutique cigars to the Mena region.
“We are very excited to have signed this landmark agreement with Mr Alzayani and his family group,” announced Dr Kafie, “as it represents a new frontier and a new business model for many American cigar brands who may not have considered markets such as Mena. We cannot ignore the opportunity presented to us by our regional partner given the enormous demand for superior quality handmade cigars”.
Dr Kafie added that the BCAA will be working with Mr Alzayani to identify the ‘Best of the Best’ of American cigars.
The first wave of pioneering brands will arrive shortly on Middle Eastern shores for discerning customers initially in Bahrain to be followed by expansion to the wider region.
The Alzayani family has a 40-year legacy of distributing and retailing premium cigars and tobacco.
“Our extensive resources, distribution and retail network and more importantly our team of seasoned sales professionals who will represent each and every brand that has put their faith in us in the best possible manner, is now at your disposal,” said Mr Alzayani.
“I have had the pleasure of visiting many premium cigar producers in the US. What I have seen from all of the BCAA brands and producers, is individuals and families whose passion, integrity and commitment to producing some of the world’s finest quality cigars are second to none. It is for this reason and the fact that the production processes and stringent quality controls of American cigarmakers are far superior to many of the other volume manufacturers, that we believe the future of cigars is ‘new world cigars’.”
Following the announcement, Dr Kafie and Mr Alzayani will be entering into discussions with several American-based producers to identify a select number of brands that posses both outstanding quality and the capacity to entertain the Mena market and the demand for a superior American-made product.
