His Majesty King Hamad received at Safriya Palace Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca) president Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, who presented him with a copy of the Holy Quran with a luxurious cover engraved with Islamic motifs and Arab calligraphy.
It was printed by Baca as part of celebrations marking ‘Muharraq the Capital of Islamic Culture 2018’.
Shaikha Mai also presented the King with a book Investing in Culture, which documents sponsors’ contributions to the Investing in Culture project. It was launched by Baca and resulted in the construction of cultural landmarks, including Bahrain National Theatre that was set up thanks to a full sponsorship of the King.
The King lauded the publications, praising efforts exerted by Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities to preserve national heritage and the kingdom’s civilisational and cultural landmarks.
He also commended the authority’s efforts to enrich the cultural and literary movement, wishing Shaikha Mai and all the staff in the sector continuous success.
