SARAH Hobday was last night crowned champion of this year’s Bahrain Ladies Open at Awali Golf Club (AGC).
Hobday won by three shots with a gross total of 177 to claim her second title in three years following her triumph in 2016.
Hobday headed into yesterday’s play as joint-overnight leader with Jin Ha Kwak with 89 each following the first 18 holes of play on Friday.
But Hobday carded a gross 88 in the final round to seal the title while Jin Ha, of Royal Golf Club, carded a 91 to finish on gross 180.
The pair teed off in increasingly windy conditions in what proved to be a thrilling duel till the end.
After four holes, both ladies remained level and at the half-way mark, Hobday was in the lead by two shots.
By hole 13, Hobday had extended her advantage to five strokes, only to see Jin Ha pull back three shots in the next three holes.
But that was not enough ot stop Hobday from becoming the champion of the 31st edition.
