BAHRAIN is set to join the United Nations Outer Space Treaty.
MPs are expected to approve the measure on Tuesday.
The treaty, first adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in December 19 1966, provides the basic framework on international space law - such as the exploration and use of outer space in the interest of all countries.
It is in line with His Majesty King Hamad’s directives to put Bahrain on the space map, including the launching of satellites and taking part in outer space studies in the coming years by sending up a Bahraini astronaut.
