Businessman Mohammed Dadabhai has been elected chairman of the new board of governors of Beacon Private School, Busaiteen. Other members include Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa, Abdulnabi Al Shoala, Jamal Fakhro, Abdulkarim Bucheery, Aziz Gilitwala, Habib Modara, Sahar Ataei, Ghada Bouzeineddine and Samir Chamma. Currently, the school has classes up to Grade 4 and an application has already been made to the Education Ministry for permission to offer classes from Grade 5 to Grade 9. The school hopes to have 100 classrooms that can accommodate 2,100 students. The school facilities will include state-of-the-art classrooms, science labs, two libraries and two swimming pools, a gymnasium and canteen when completed.
