Bahrain: Eleven African nations have been added to the list of countries whose citizens can obtain e-entry visas.
Interior Ministry Under-Secretary for Nationality, Passport and Residence Affairs Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa announced that this will be implemented from January.
The countries are Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mozambique, Cameroon, Gabon, Senegal, Mauritius and Seychelles. Citizens of these countries can get online entry visas through the website www.evisa.gov.bh.
With this, the number of countries benefiting from online visa facility increases to 113.
Shaikh Rashid said the countries were selected after a joint study by the NPRA and the Economic Development Board. This follows directives by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, to further link Bahrain with regional and international markets by updating rules and procedures.
He said this is the third phase of the NPRA plan to facilitate entry visas, as last year 36 countries were included in the list. Remarkable improvements were also included this year as privileges to make Bahrain an advanced location in entry and transit procedures, he added.
