BAHRAIN is set to host the first-ever Gulf Travel and Tourism Forum 2019 later this year.
The three-day event held under the patronage of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) chief executive Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa will be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC), Sanabis from October 23 to 25.
The first-of-its-kind forum is organised by Action Leaders for Women Advancement (Alwane) and is being managed by Worksmart for Events Management.
“Local, regional and international tourism-related businesses such as travel agencies, airlines, lodges, hotels and destination management companies (DMCs) will showcase their services and products,” said a statement from the organisers yesterday.
“The BTEA’s presence will also be key to boosting industries and business opportunities.”
The event will also feature speakers who will deliver a quality knowledge-sharing platform at the conference.
“The forum aims to provide a platform for Bahrain’s hospitality industry to promote and market their products and services to all involved in the industry, including the public,” the statement added.
“The forum’s primary objective is to promote Bahrain as one of the top MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) destinations in the region,” said the organisers ensuring that the project will foster the image of Bahrain not only as a tourist destination but a globally competitive country for MICE tourism.
On the sidelines of the forum will be a number of activities that reflect Bahrain’s hospitality, in addition to a series of workshops and discussions related to the tourism sector.
