Manama: A group of rioters and vandals have been detained along with a number of people who misused social media for illegal purposes, said the Interior Ministry’s assistant under-secretary for legal affairs.
The clampdown follows a statement issued by the ministry in which it warned against any anti-Saudi stances or deeds.
Parents of several minors were also summoned, in accordance with the law on juvenile delinquency, which states that juvenile’s legal guardian will face punishment if the child
commits a crime. The official also underscored the responsibility of parents to protect their children from incitement by preventing them from engaging in any illegal activity.
