BAHRAIN’S superstar sprinter Salwa Eid Naser last night raced to an impressive victory in the women’s 400 metres at the Meeting International Mohammed VI d’Athletisme de Rabat, held in Morocco.
The event was part of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Diamond League.
Salwa lived up to her tag as favourite and had twice the reason to celebrate her victory, having clocked her season’s best time of 50.13 seconds. It was her second straight race where she improved on her top time for 2019, having previously won in Rome a fortnight ago with a mark of 50.26s.
It was also her third win in as many races in this year’s IAAF Diamond League series. Aminatou Seyni of Niger claimed second place in 50.24s, while Christine Botlogetswe of Botswana was third in 50.48s.
