A TEENAGER, whose body was found on the rooftop a building on Friday night, died due to inhaling lighter fluid, sources revealed on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as 16-year-old Shreyas Manoj, a Grade 11 student of Indian School Bahrain.
He was found dead by one of his friends at around 8.30pm on Friday on the rooftop of a building behind Gowri Krishna restaurant on Zubara Avenue in Manama.
His parents had reported him missing to the Capital Governorate police.

The building where the body was found
An eyewitness from the neighbourhood told the GDN on Saturday that the building’s front door was always open allowing easy access to the building.
“The main doors of most of the residential buildings in the area are open and people have easy access as the neighbourhood is family-oriented and there is nothing to worry about,” he added.
The family, hailing from Kerala, has been living in Bahrain for the past 20 years.
The body is at Salmaniya Medical Complex mortuary.
Inhaling lighter fluid, or huffing, can have an euphoric effect but it can also lead to death via asphyxiation.
