A 35-year-old video blogger in China died during a live-streaming session after eating poisonous centipedes and geckos alive.
According to reports in media, the man's girlfriend found him unconscious in his flat in Hefei, Aunhui province on Saturday.
The deceased had a channel on China's largest live-streaming platform - DouYu where he posted live videos of himself drinking alcohol and eating centepedes, mealworms and geckos.
His account was followed by 15,000 people on DouYu and the man would host live-stream sessions every night, according to Xinan Evening News.
To gain more followers, the vlogger used to spin a wheel where different items were marked. After selecting the items like this, he ate or drank them for his viewers live.
A foul play in the case has been ruled out by authorities. The matter is being investigated to ascertain the cause of death.
Live streaming videos is very popular in China, where people have become celebrities by giving viewers access to their daily lives, performing dangerous stunts or committing eccentric acts.
