MANAMA: Bahrain last night welcomed an invitation extended by Saudi Arabia to the Yemeni government and all parties involved in clashes in Aden to hold an urgent meeting.
The invitation is an important step towards reaching a peaceful solution as it adopts the approach of dialogue and de-escalation, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“Bahrain affirms that this initiative mirrors the pivotal role of Saudi Arabia, led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, in enhancing security and stability in the region and Yemen in particular, through the Arab Coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen, and combating the Iran-backed Houthi militias and all other terrorist organisations.”
The invitation also reflects Saudi Arabia’s clear vision regarding the achievement of a permanent political solution that guarantees the unity and independence of Yemen, it said.
Bahrain also reiterated its unwavering support to all efforts and initiatives launched by Saudi Arabia for the benefit of the region and the world.
