Manama: Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa Cardiac Centre has introduced a new generation of implantable electronic chips, a type of heart-monitoring device that records heart rhythm after it is inserted under the skin of the chest.
It enables to analyse ECG readings and transmit them to the hospital’s control room via bluetooth where they are reviewed by specialist doctors. An urgent appointment is fixed in case of cardiac rhythm abnormalities. The electronic chips have averted many heart complications as the diagnosis process is performed in record time.
Also, patients don’t have to report to the hospital, Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa Cardiac Centre’s head of electrophysiology department, consultant cardiologist and interventional cardiac electrophysiologist Dr Adel Khalifa told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
