Bahrain has signed an agreement with Al Alamiya Media and Advertising Company to broadcast matches of HM the King’s Football Cup and those of the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League in the new season.
The agreement is based on the directives of HM the King’s representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi, and Bahrain Football Association (BFA) president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa attended the signing ceremony.
Under the agreement, signed by Radio and Television Affairs Assistant Undersecretary Abdulla Khalid Al Dossary and Al Alamiya deputy chief executive officer Badr bin Saleh bin Saraa, the company will transmit football matches in Bahrain with high-resolution cameras that are similar to those used in filming and broadcasting European league matches.
Speaking on the occasion, the Information Minister stressed that the agreement represented a quantum leap in the transmission of sports events in Bahrain, expressing his delight at the signing of the agreement which, he said, would contribute to the development of the technical competencies of Bahraini youth and give special momentum to the Bahraini sports competitions through professional broadcasting.
He also thanked Shaikh Nasser and SCYS first deputy chairman and Bahrain Olympic Commitee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for their support.
