Mondrian Doha, a luxurious hotel in the capital city of Qatar, has appointed Wael Maatouk as its new general manager.
Maatouk joins Mondrian Doha from his previous posts as general manager for hotels such as Sharq Village & Spa and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Qatar.
With more than 20 years’ experience, Maatouk has demonstrated that he is an accomplished and knowledgeable leading figure in the hospitality industry regionally.

In his new role, Maatouk brings extensive experience in developing policy, strategic implementation, and the coordination of staff in all departments to guarantee a harmonious working system while adhering strictly to regulatory requirements. In his most recent appointment, Maatouk managed an important transition of rebranding and repositioning a hotel to become the first LXR hotel in the world for the new Luxury Collection under the Hilton Corporation.
Located in the heart of the West Bay, the 270-room Mondrian Doha is designed in collaboration with world-renowned Dutch designer Marcel Wanders, and Southwest Architecture. The property features eight restaurants and bars, including CUT by Wolfgang Puck and Japanese Morimoto Doha by Masaharu. The hotel also boasts one of the largest ESPA spa and a variety of stylish and unique options for meetings and special events including a 2,000-sq-m ballroom that can hold up to 1,500 guests.
