This is in response to the letter ‘Airport baggage’ (GDN, September 4).
“As the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), Bahrain Airport Company is committed to running the airport as a friendly and efficient facility.
“At present, porters remove baggage from the carousel because of the limited length of the belt. If baggage is left to circulate, it drastically reduces the space available for other bags to be injected.
“The new passenger terminal building will feature a more modern baggage handling system that is longer, faster and more efficient. Through the ongoing airport modernisation programme, we are taking many other important steps to enhance BIA’s infrastructure, facilities and services, which will ensure Bahrain’s gateway delivers a world-class travel experience.”
