A parliamentary delegation led by Shura Council member Mona Almoayyed, and including MP Zainab Abdul Ameer, took part in the opening of the International Parliamentary Seminar on Media Freedom, organised by the British Group of Inter-Parliamentary Union in London.
The forum outlined the state of global media freedom and stressed the importance of collective action to protect journalists.
Media freedom and protection of journalists are the main pillars of democracy, Ms Almoayyed said, noting that they are tools without which respect for human rights cannot be ensured.
