More than 145,000 students, including 12,000 new ones, went back to classes today as schools reopened marking the beginning of the new academic year.
The Education Ministry has put in place all arrangements to accommodate students whose schools had been evacuated, totally or partly on a temporary basis, to undergo maintenance works, the minister, Dr Majid Al Nuaimi, said.
Curricula revision is underway, including English language curriculum development for intermediate students in addition to other curricula for basic, technical and vocational education to cope with labour market developments, he pointed out.
The ministry has completed admission procedures for students who applied to join the Abdulla bin Khalid College for Islamic Studies, set to open this month.
