Dubai: An Indian woman, 40, was stabbed to death by her husband at the parking lot of her Dubai office on Monday, police and family said on Tuesday.
The mother of two, Vidhya Chandran, from Kerala was supposed to travel back home to celebrate Onam with her family, said her brother Vinay Chandran.
Vidhya's elder brother stated that her husband Ugesh CS, in his forties, had been troublesome to his wife and that the couple were not on good terms.
According to the brother, Vidhya travelled to work as a finance manager with Sunshine CNC Technical Works in Al Quoz 15 months ago to clear Rs1 million loan that her husband took on her property without her knowledge.
Her two daughters in grade 10 and 11 stayed back home with her parents.
The family didn't know that Ugesh had travelled to the UAE on a visit visa and went to meet her, the brother added.
The husband suspected that his wife was having an affair with another man, so he lured her into the parking lot of her office and after a heated confrontation, he stabbed her to death and escaped, according to an official in Dubai Police.
The husband confessed to killing his wife during questioning.
The suspect was charged with premeditated murder and was referred to Dubai Public Prosecution.
