MANAMA: The Premier yesterday hailed growing economic partnership between Bahrain and Thailand.
He also highlighted the two countries’ keenness to consolidate their relations.
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa stressed the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in supporting governments’ efforts in various countries.
He pointed to their potential to generate job opportunities for citizens as well as promote national products.
The Prime Minister was attending the Thai Expo SME One Fest in Bahrain 2019, organised by the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion at the Gulf Convention Hall, in co-operation with the Thai Embassy and the Thai Club in Bahrain.
He was welcomed by Thai Ambassador Thanis Na Songkhla who briefed him about the expo and the products being showcased.
The Prime Minister also watched a musical show embodying Thai folk art and later toured the expo.
He expressed admiration for the Thai products’ quality and design.
The Premier called on businessmen and the private sector in the two countries to take advantage of the opportunities to build economic partnerships.
He stressed the importance of holding more specialised exhibitions to enhance trade exchange and boost joint investments.
The Thai Ambassador thanked the Premier for attending the expo, which, he said, reflected his keenness to develop bilateral relations.
