New Delhi: Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut is currently busy preparing for a biopic of late south Indian film star and Tamil Nadu politician Jayaram Jayalalithaa.
The film is titled "Jaya" in Hindi and "Thalaivi" in Tamil.
Jayalalithaa served as the chief minister of southern Tamil Nadu state for over 14 years and was an actor before entering politics. The leader of the AIADMK party left countless supporters bereaved when she died in 2016 at the age of 68.
The "Judgementall Hai Kya" actress was spotted taking Bharatanatyam classes for shooting a song for the film with over 100 background dancers. It is being choreographed by well-known South Indian choreographer Gayathri Raghuram.
The film is being helmed by AL Vijay and has been written by "Baahubali" and "Manikarnika" writer KV Vijayendra Prasad and "The Dirty Picture" and "Once Upon a Time in Mumbai" writer Rajat Arora.
